On Wii’s and Wii U’s

So, I finally did it. I broke down and bought a Wii U.

It probably wasn’t the best decision from a financial point of view, but I’ve been wanting one for a long time and with the release of Mario Maker coming up soon I felt like it was a good time to make the purchase. Now, as I’m typing this I haven’t hooked it up yet because, well, I’m still at work. I have 1 1/2 hours left till I can leave, and I’m ready to just go home and hook it up and play some Mario.

I’ve mentioned it before but I have always had a love for Nintendo. I might not buy a lot of their games, but the 8 bit console was the first console I ever had. Growing up we always had the latest Nintendo system, which was usually a x-mas gift given as something for me and my sister to share.

The fact that there is a mario game coming out that lets you design and play literally an near infinite number of levels I felt like I should go ahead and get the system. I wound up with the Super Mario 3D Land bundle, and I’ll be picking up some accessories (re LINK AMIIBO) on the way home tonight. One of the things I’ve always liked about the Wii & the Wii U is that it is backwards compatible with all the Gamecube games, and that there is the Nintendo EShop that you can buy some of the old 8bit/N64 titles from.

Anyways, this is a short post. Mainly cause I should be working, and also because there really isn’t anything else I think I can say on the subject.
