On catching up.

So I guess it has been over a month since my last post. Honestly I haven’t really felt all that motivated to write much. Been pretty busy time at work which is usually where I do all the writing.

So just to give a few updates I guess. I bought a new computer, and it took almost a month for it to actually come in. I wound up getting an Alienware Area-51 desktop, 4 TB hard drive, 16 GB ram and an NVidea Geforce 970 with 4GB Ram. It’s a beast, and I’ve barely had a chance to use it. Within the first couple of days I started having issues with the network card telling me it was missing registry entries or something. I haven’t had time to really dig in to it, so the only solution I’ve managed to get working at this point is turning the PC off, turning my modem off and then turning them back on. Supposedly there are other things to try, but I’ve been house sitting for the last week and haven’t been home to mess with it. What time I did get on there I will say I enjoyed. Games look so much better when you can play them on something other then low/medium.

Other then that I spent a lot of time with Dark Souls 3. I ended up beating the game all the way through New Game ++ and got the 100% Platinum trophy for it on the PS4. I will say I felt the game was easier then I thought it would be, but maybe that’s because I had more experience with that type of game from when I played the first Dark Souls game. I have Dark Souls 2 and Bloodborne on my to-do list as well, but I don’t know if I want to spend the time getting the platinum trophies for those.

I’ve also been spending some time playing Hitman. Some time after Dark Souls 3 came out the second content pack came out, so once I finished with Dark Souls 3 I hopped back on that for a bit. I think the next content pack comes out next week, so when it does I will play through that for a week or two. For now though the next game I plan to play through and get the platinum on is Lego Batman 3.

I also picked up Overwatch for PC yesterday, so I plan to download and install that when I get home tonight. I will probably spend some amount of time in the training mode until I feel like I have a good handle on the game. I’m hoping that I know enough people that play that I would have a regular group to play with. I’m not sure I dig the whole pugging aspect of the game and I’m not sure how much I’ll even enjoy it. I hope to at least get my $60 worth out of the game.

I also learned yesterday that if you buy one of the pre-paid battle net balance cards to NOT USE SCISSORS to scratch it off. It will just take the entire number off making you waste however much money you spent on it.

Other than that it’s just been work and doing a miserable job trying to lose weight. I had lost 13lbs over the month of April and promptly put some of it back on. Been trying to do another diet this month but it hasn’t really gone so well. I don’t know if I’ve gained much but I haven’t lost much either. I’d at least like to get back to where I was at the beginning of the month and just call a do-over for June.

I am kind of looking forward to my June vacation. I’ll be heading to Houston for Comicpalooza mid June. I’m looking forward to the trip, but it will be both a good trip and a depressing one. If you’re new to reading this my girlfriend died last year and this was something her and her dad used to do together. Since she is no longer able to go I’m taking her place. I’ll be staying at her dad’s house for a few days and spending time with him. Her urn is set up at their house so I’ll have to try not to let that get to me much. However I know it will since I have been there a few times since she died and it’s still hard seeing it sitting there.

But anyways, maybe I won’t wait a month before writing something else. And maybe I’ll be the one murdering you in Overwatch.

Oh and I also bought Black Desert Online, but haven’t spent much time with it yet, see pc issues and house sitting.
